Masterplanning

wcec have been involved in a number of important masterplanning schemes, working closely with stakeholders to develop visionary proposals to transform and regenerate previously underused and neglected areas.

Port Glasgow Regeneration

Port Glasgow Regeneration

wcec were employed in 2003 to look at the regeneration of the Clyde Port ship building yards in Port Glasgow developing proposals in close consultation with Inverclyde Council and their development partner Gallagher Estates.

Our proposals involved the rerouting of a one mile section of the A8 to integrate a large section of the site into the town centre.  At the heart of the new proposals is a new town centre square with the historic boat 'The Comet' as its focal point linking into new retail, employment and leisure uses with a larger area of land beyond for dockside residential development and community facilities.

This scheme is now well progressed on site with wcec being retained as implementation architects.
