Penistone, South Yorkshire
Work will start in 2009 on the £15 million redevelopment of the Penistone markets area in Barnsley, South Yorkshire which will deliver:
· New fire and ambulance stations
· A new retail market
· 45 one and two bedroom apartments
· A Tesco foodstore, creating 200 local jobs
· The refurbishment of properties in the town which are currently derelict
The design has had to be sensitive of Penistones market town character, while meeting the requirements of a planning brief set by the Local Authority.
