St. Neots Football Club
WCEC have completed the football ground and facilities for St Neots Town Football Club, a United Counties Premier League side in Cambridgeshire.
The development includes a full size football pitch with floodlighting, 245 seater stand, club house, changing rooms, function room and boardroom. The new ground has an overall capacity of 2,000 and came into full operation when the 2008/2009 season kicked off, with a couple of friendly games during summer 2008.
Income generating activity at the club can now be maximised, as the new function room has been made available to members of the Local Community for events.
Adjacent to the main ground is an artificial pitch to Football Association Performance Standards, this is now being managed by the Local Authority and used by youth and community groups. The pitch can be used at full size or converted into three 5 a side pitches.
Saint Neots (known by their fans as The Saints), dates back to 1879 and is regarded as one of the leading clubs at their level. The Club was relocated to make way for a development of 1,225 homes and a primary school on a 157 acre site. Part of the Saint Neots work did include new highway works and service diversions to serve the longer term residential development plans.
