Heading up WCEC since 2002 Alex oversees both the BIM and Pre-Development team and manages major client accounts for the practice.

Ashley started at WCEC in 1986, became Partner in 2003 and CEO in 2014. Ashley is account holder for several blue chip developer, retail and leisure clients and has considerable expertise in the design, planning and delivery of numerous complex high value projects in these work sectors.

Regardless of scale or the complexity of projects, Dave's overriding commitment to the client and attention to detail enables him to meet and exceed client expectations delivering large scale commercial projects on time & to budget.

Dave has represented Clients at planning committees and appeals and continues to have a hands on approach to the implementation of a wide range of schemes across multiple sectors.

Nick Riley
Board Director

Nick leads design and client accounts on major projects. He is a leading business development figure in the group and maintains a presence in all of the group offices. He actively manages a wide network of contacts. Nick’s skills lie in being able to clearly define and inform a client’s requirements and aspirations succinctly, to deliver creative, dynamic and robust architecture which combines best practice and new ideas.

Design Director

Andrew has successfully managed one of WCEC Groups large retail teams for a number of years and has been instrumental in the architectural team in driving quality and efficiency into project delivery. With a diversity of experience Andrew combines true design flair with technical excellence to ensure our clients’ needs and aspirations are delivered appropriately. Chris Hand
Senior Associate Director

Chris has been at WCEC for 10 years leading on multiple urban redevelopment schemes including retail, residential and mixed use developments. Chris’ main strengths include focussing on client satisfaction and ensuring all jobs he delivers are finished to a high quality and within budget.

Dan Cocker
Associate Director

Dan has worked at WCEC for over 15 years during that time he has worked in various roles and departments giving him extensive experience in multiple roles and sectors. Dan now heads up the commercial pre-development team, working primarily for developers to evolve scheme designs through planning and into implementation. He is also a key member of WCEC visualisation and has been producing visuals for the company for over 10 years.

Darren Jolley ACIAT
Associate Director

Darren has been leading the implementation of high rise residential schemes for over ten years and has seen him deliver projects for some of the country’s most prestigious developers. Darren’s hands on approach to construction implementation allows him to quickly gain the respect of the project team, by working closely to resolve problems before they manifest themselves on site.He has an exemplary record for delivering projects on time and to budget and within complex sites.

David Skelton
Technical Director

David has been with WCEC for over ten years and has worked in various departments varying from town centre redevelopments, large retail roll outs, and numerous amounts of residential projects. David has a proven track record for developing strong client relationships and is committed to providing quality management services to the company as well as acting as a mentor for junior members of staff.

An RIBA Prize winning Architect and former Presidents Medal Nominee, Ian leads a number of WCEC’s major accounts, including the project team currently delivering the £800 Middlewood Locks Development. Ian is a talented and committed director who fosters a collaborative approach challenging decisions and developing appropriate, innovative and valuable advice. Whilst Ian has extensive experience in a number of sectors his current remit is to lead WCEC’s residential offer with specific focus on the Build to Rent arena.

Mark Kraut

Whilst at WCEC, Mark has successfully led one of the largest retail teams and has been instrumental in the architectural team in driving efficiency and technical expertise into project delivery.

Mark Williams
Regional Director

Mark manages our Leeds office but is also an active director travelling throughout the UK to project manage developments and work closely with clients. He has a particularly strong background in retail benefiting from an extended period working directly as an external design consultant for one of the country’s largest retail organisations. Currently the team’s portfolio in Leeds incorporates much more than simply retail including developments for hotels, residential led mix use schemes and leisure.

Matt has been instrumental in the design and build of many large and award winning projects. Matt has a sound history in design and delivery of student living and educational schemes but can apply his passion of creating inspirational, inclusive environments to all projects. Designing buildings to sustain the future, his designs consider ‘creating spaces’, sustainable elements and improving facilities for users.

Mike has over 30 years’ experience within the architectural / construction industry and as such has experience within many different work sectors. His strong sense of design is matched by a commercial realism. He is experienced in leading other consultants to make sure that the schemes he delivers are fully coordinated and meet the efficiencies expected by clients.

Nick Fenton
Associate Director

As an experienced designer, who can think laterally, with an aptitude for design, Nick is a key member of the WCEC team and specialises in office, mixed use, conversion and residential schemes. Nick has an excellent understanding and in depth experience of the full development process from inception through to completion. His eye for detail and spatial design has allowed him to successfully deliver schemes across differing sectors.

Paul Rogers

Paul leads our London office at Chancery Lane and brings with him a wealth of London centric property/construction sector experience to the business.

As a recognised technical director of the practice, Richard has over 18 years of experience in design and delivery of projects working closely with both main clients and contractors to offer innovative, interactive and efficient technical design solutions. He has a proven track record of coordinating development programmes with consistent successful outcomes. His projects often combine architecture, interior design, graphics and brand identity and seeks to ensure designs are flexible, practical and deliver sustainable environments.

Simon Newton

Simon has been with WCEC since 1998 and was promoted to Associate Director in 2009, he has extensive technical knowledge of all aspects of design and construction in the commercial, retail and leisure sectors. Simon has a proven track record for delivering major, complex projects and has an excellent awareness of the clients’ demands and always strives to exceed their expectations.

Simon Whittam
Senior Associate Director

Simon is the longest serving employee of WCEC having started in 1980! He has experience in all sectors of commercial architecture and has outstanding technical expertise. He has interests outside of the practice in residential building and is NHBC registered. If you want to get Simon on your side, invite him for a round of golf, but beware he has a handicap of 1!

Stephen has been with WCEC for over 10 years, he has gained a vast amount of experience in the commercial and retail sectors. As a strong and respected team leader, Stephen finds it easy to motivate others and currently heads up our Remodel/Extension and Refresh Team in our retail division. Stephen is also qualified BREEAM assessor.

Marketing Manager

Kat leads the marketing team at WCEC Group to provide consistent branding and marketing for all our UK offices. She has a long-standing background in architecture led marketing and graphic design leading the design and production of our in-house sales material to promote the business. Kat also delivers marketing material for private clients where required. This can include brochures for bid/ tender submissions and also sales documents for our large residential clients.
