Work is complete on the Alexandra Park development in Tunstall, Stoke on Trent, with retailer Carphone Warehouse already open for business.

Alexandra Park also houses a further 1,500 sq ft retail unit, a 50,000 sq ft health and leisure club and 160 parking spaces.

It is adjacent to the Jasper Square shopping centre which was also designed by WCEC and is home to leading retailers such as Argos, Next and Matalan.

A 24 ft stainless steel sculpture ‘The Tunstall Shard’ designed by award winning sculptor Robert Erskine will be installed in Alexandra Park in January to celebrate the area’s rich pottery heritage .

Further development phases for the site include new offices and medical facilities for the region’s Primary Care Trust, additional parking, highway remodelling and improvements to the local green space.

Gavin Ward, partner at WCEC said: “We have been working in Tunstall for five years now and the completion of this latest development takes the regeneration of the town even further.  The Jasper Square scheme has transformed what was once a derelict town into a thriving centre and Alexandra Park can only bring more benefits.”
