WCEC Architects have continued their support of local charities by organising a series of fundraising events. Staff from WCEC raise funds for nominated charities each year; this year they are supporting Ashgate Hospice and Marie Curie Cancer Care.

In March the Derbyshire based practice fielded their largest ever running team of 45 for the Dronfield 10K race and Fun run; getting fit but also raising over £1000 through sponsorship.
A recent Summer Extravaganza was organised to entertain all staff and their friends and families and to raise funds. For once the rain stopped and the sun shone ensuring a good attendance. There were many games and activities including a rodeo bull and bouncy castles. Staff were kept well fed with a hog roast and pizza and the fun continued into the evening with a disco and live band. Funds were raised through a raffle, bar sales and a cake stall specialising in South American delicacies.
Many staff have also made charitable donations instead of sending Christmas cards to their clients and colleagues.
Staff member Jane Biggin said these events are often challenging but always fun and everyone enjoys coming together to raise money for deserving local charities.
