Following on from the successful completion of York Science Park, WCEC Architects and construction company Harrisons have teamed up again to refurbish and extend a country house hotel and conference / training centre near York.
WCEC Architects have completed the designs for a major extension and refurbishment of Burn Hall Hotel near York. The proposed project will transform the existing hotel into a 96 bedroomed country house hotel with an extensive residential training facility.
The scheme will see the construction of two new bedroom wings coupled with a complete refurbishment of all the existing bedrooms. There will be a new reception area together with a new kitchen and a restaurant extension.
The design also includes a new function suite which will be big enough to accommodate 200 guests.
The scheme has been sympathetically designed to enhance the character of the existing Victorian country house which is located in a landscaped rural setting.
The new scheme is due to start on site in spring 2006 and will be completed in early summer 2007. The development has been carefully phased to keep the hotel functioning while the works take place.
