WCEC shortlisted for training award
14 Nov 2007
WCEC is one of just three companies to be shortlisted in the Sheffield Business Awards training and development award category.
The awards are designed to recognise and reward business success across the Sheffield region, and the training and development award will be made to an organisation which shows evidence of significant business improvement and success through the effective training and personal development of its workforce.
WCEC has invested heavily in training and development since drawing up a business plan just 18 months ago. It has made a huge impact on the success of the company, with turnover exceeding targets, the client base increasing and the company’s growth strategy accelerating.
The company enjoys a high staff retention rate, and WCEC’s reputation for having a proactive and extensive staff development programme has resulted in the appointment of staff who were specifically looking for a practice which would support their learning aspirations.
The winner of the award will be announced at a glittering award ceremony in Sheffield in December.
Alex Wall, partner at WCEC, said: “We’re delighted to have made the shortlist for these prestigious awards. WCEC has invested heavily in training and development over the past 18 months and this has allowed the practice to move on considerably. It’s taken a great deal of commitment from all staff to implement the changes so it’s great that all their hard work is being recognised in some way.”
Chamber events and marketing manager Vernon Tolson added: “The feedback the Chamber has received from the judges has been very complimentary. We’ve been informed that there was an extremely high standard of applications this year, forcing them to make a lot of difficult decisions.”
